The Equi Sauna Red light Pad can be used to help speed up the recovery of many conditions such as; Tendon and ligament injuries, sprained muscles, tears and swelling. It is also a great way to warm and cool down muscles. Helping with tight backed or horses prone to sore or fatigued muscles.
(always consult your vet before using Red light units. This is a broad guide, each horse may differ due to condition and needs. Do not use Red light on pregnant or lactating mares)
We recommend using the following settings to aid treatment.
First setting (one click) Red light and Infrared light. This is the best all-round setting, with both wave lengths 660nm 850nm. Perfect for creating ATP and  bringing blood to the area helping to remove inflammation. This setting is great for areas such as limbs were blood supple is limited. Warming up and cooling down muscles.
Second setting (two clicks) Straight Redlight, this is 660nm meaning it has a shallower depth and is best suited skin issues like mud fever ect.
Third setting (three clicks) Straight Infrared light, 850nm this is invisible to the naked eye and best used for deep muscle work.
Pulse mode can be used by turning on the pad to any desired setting listed above. Then holding button for 3 seconds. Lights will begin to flash and pulse. This is used to help break up scare tissue and bring blood to area with poor circulation, ie tendons.
For best results use pad up to 3 times on effected area daily for 7-20min. For a detailed treatment program pacific to your needs please contact Equi Sauna directly.

The Equi Sauna Redlight Therapy torch
The Equi Sauna Red light Therapy torch is designed for direct use on the skin. Relaxing tight muscles and brings blood to the effected area. This can be done by simply turning on the light. Then using the torch to stroke the muscle in the direction of the horses hair.
The Red light torch can also be used to activate acupuncture points. This can be done by "opening" the point. Simply stroke acupuncture point 3 times in the direction of the hair. Then place torch on the point. It can take 10 to 20 seconds to trigger the point. Horses can seen releasing by licking, chewing, delayed blinking and yawning. To" close" the point simply stroke the acupuncture point three times in the direction of the hair once finished.
Never use acupuncture on pregnant or lactating mare as it can induce labor.

The Equi Sauna

The Equi Sauna is comprised of three Panels. Two LED red and infrared light panels. One infrared heat lamp panel. Each panel is connected by a steal frame and can be hung with the D shackle 5m chain provided.

It is recommended that the Equi Sauna is hung 1-1.5ms above the horse, on an angle of 15-35 degrees angling upward towards the horse’s head. This allows light to reach the length of the horse. Simply plug in unit and its ready for use. Each panel has an isolating switch allowing panels to be turned off individually. This is recommended for the heat lamp panel during the warmer months. Or above 27deg.

It is recommended that the Equi Sauna is introduced to the horse slowly. As the light and sound may startle some horses. To introduce, tie horse under unit with the lights off. Then each day add another light until horse is settled and happy.

For optimum results use the Equi Sauna LEDs for 7-30min for warm up and cool down. Using the plug in timer provided. The Heat lamps can also be used for warming and cooling the horse but in warmer temperature we recommend only using them to dry the horse.  As the heat lamps emit heat they warm and rise the horses natural body temperature. If left for extended amount of time or in warmer temperature this may cause serious harm to horse. (do not use on pregnant or lactating mares)

The Equi Sauna Gua Sha massage tool

The Equi Sauna Gua Sha massage tool is designed with large sweeping corners for deep tissue and gliding work. While the smaller sharper edges, are used for trigger point release and smaller muscle groups.

Always take care when using the Gua Sha massage tool as incorrect or forceful use can cause serious harm. Always start with a small amount of pressure and build as the horse can cope.
